68 Radical ProStreet Camaro Full tube chassis
Over the edge???
1968 Radical Pro Street Camaro w Full tube chassis
This car was a typical Pro Streeter in the late 90's. As it usually goes the car was getting faster and faster at the track until it became a full time race car, w slicks, fiberglass doors, hood, front end and a fat block 427 with juice (ran in the 5.70's in the 1/8). With a goal of returning this car to the streets (is now tagged/registered and driven in PA) the car was recently disassembled the motor was sent out to be bored and stroked to 505 a complete and a rebuilt heavy duty turbo 400 w brake and reverse manual valve body and 3200 stall was put together for the drivetrain. Rear is a 12 bolt all strange and Mark Williams (4-link w coilovers), has disc brakes on all 4 corners, tube a-arms w rack & pinion. A steel front end in great condition was found w hide away lights, new steel doors and a hinged deck lid are all on the car now making it all steel but the hood at this time I only have the glass hood (I don't like it but it goes w the car). I recently put a brand new windshield and rear window in and have all molding and clips that are mostly new for both the front and back, I have new door window cranks but don't have the door windows at this time. The inside (don't have any pics of inside but will be getting some this week) has original dash and column, 2 racing seats w covers and new belts and window net, the ignition is also inside by the feet of the passenger and is a 7AL w two step (upper limit and trans brake launch limit), overhead switch/fuse panel(s) on roll cage . The rims and tires are brand new rear has 22 wide and 33 tall ET streets and low profile skinnies up front. The car has 2 fuel systems (both are Barry Grant, one for engine and one for the juice). I don't have a lot of specs on the engine but I do know that It ran (2 weeks ago) a 6.19 in the 1/8 without juice and loosing traction off the line, but the part that impressed me was I lifted at the finish for the 1/8 mile and still ran a 10.94 in the 1/4 at only 79 mph.
I drive this around town and to local shows but it is radical for the street some shows and cruise "ins" I trailer it to about a mile away (for complete street the car does need front head lights and wiring for front directionals (rears are done both brake and driving/directionals) will also need an exhaust system (cops have been cool so far but ......).
If you are into radical prostreets and early Camaros, come take a look at this one. I am willing to trade but will need cash with the deal, the whole reason for selling is to help my sister with $$$ she has cancer and no health coverage, I want to help her and still have a Hot Rod. I am into older rides 30's, 40's and 50's hot rod, rat rod, Front engine Dragster, fiat, Anglia , w current cert and fast, that I fit (I am 5-10 235).......let me know will consider all cool offers???? Please don't offer me 2 goats and a S-10, this car has 40 grand into it, I am not going to ask that, but the money that past owners and I have put into this car add up to 40 grand easily.

| "I would like to thank Racing Junk . com for being one of todays top rated number one autoparts databases. I recently purchased a complete blower system from Pete Rafidi in MD. What a great guy to do business with! the parts were better than described and shipping was impeccable, prompt and packaged way and above the norm. Pete was in constant contact throughout the whole transaction and shipping process to Canada. I would definitely do business again with Mr. Rafidi. Thanx again to Pete - Thanx again Racingjunk.com" |
